Whiting and Horne Family

It’s always nice to get to work with families over and over again. Victoria and I have gotten the chance to work together a few times this past year, but it was so good to finally have her and her own family in front of my camera again. Violet is growing like a weed!

We headed down to this beautiful little fishing village near Prospect, Nova Scotia. Sadly we picked the coldest day yet in 2012, and had to cut our time outside short. I would love to head back down there on a warmer day as it had so much potential! I was also lucky enough to even capture a few of the first snowflakes of the year!

Lily Walker’s First Photoshoot

I was fortunate enough that I got to meet little Lily the day she was born, but had to wait until we returned from our recent destination wedding before I was able to photograph her.

We wanted to bring her back to the Hayloft at Walker’s Feed for some infant photos. My friend Craig had a rocker that had once belonged to his grandmother and wanted to have photos taken with Lily in it. It was a really beautiful family heirloom. I think my favorite part was when Grandma and Grandpa Walker arrived, and were able to sit in some photos with her old rocker. There was some truly beautiful moments that afternoon. I look forward to getting a chance to photograph Lily again!

Michelle Maternity

One great thing that I love about the biker community, is that you get to meet and ride with so many new and cool people. I met Craig and Michelle last year on a group ride through a mutual friend of ours. We’ve kept in touch and when I heard the news that a little baby Walker was on the way I was first to jump at the chance to shoot their maternity session.

They threw the idea to me about shooting in the family businesses hayloft. This was a really fun and cool location. The natural light was just beautiful and we lucked out and got a really clear day! I even got to hold on to a full grown duck a couple times! I was really pleased with how the images came out. Michelle looks so amazing (and only a couple weeks away) from bringing Lily into the world. I wish ya all the best Shell (and you too Craig!) and I can’t wait to meet her!

Hey Jude..

Andrew and I have been (sort of) working together for about a year. His company sells to the store that I work at through the week. When I heard that he and his wife Lindsay were expecting their first child I told him I would love to get together and do some photos with them!

We missed out on getting to photograph the baby bump.. and with Christmas approaching, time was hard to come by. Lindsay was past due for the little man, and I told Andrew that he would be born on Saturday (Dec 17th) because it was lucky. (Also because it is MY birthday!)

Sure enough! The little man was born that Saturday and just before New Years I got to meet him. So say hello to baby Jude! Future hockey player!

MacLean Kids

Hard to call them kids when they are this age.

Meaghanne and my husband have been best friends since the dawn of time. She and her brother Zack wanted to get some photos together for their folks for the holidays. We managed to luck out and run into the right people at the right time, and got to go into the Seahorse Tavern while it was empty to get some really cool shots. It’s always hard photographing siblings, especially when they are close in age, but these two were just fun to goof around with. Sometimes the key to great images, is not take things too seriously.

Power/Hoyt Family

I was surprised this past fall that my dear friends Mike and Carrie announced their engagement! Everyone who knows these two know that they are just adorable together and have a great little family already with Dali.

We got together for dinner one evening and did some photos of everyone together. Mike finally agreed to wear the shirt only if he could “smoke a pipe and lord over all his manliness.” Needless to say we all agreed! Dali also took some time to learn how to put on lipstick. I don’t know if I have ever laughed so hard at her face and managed to catch the picture too!

Doyle Xmas

Once again I got a change to get together at the Doyle house for some quick photos for Christmas cards this year. People always say that “time flies” especially when talking about their kids. Now, not having kids of my own I still have those freedoms of messy houses and random out of town adventures. But I also get to see what people mean when I get to work with families over and over throughout the years. It’s amazing to see how much they grow over a few months, and how their personalities flourish!

Rambling aside.. here they are!

Picture perfect…

… but we all know what it’s really like to shoot family photos with two toddlers :D

Whiting Xmas Tree

With having some technical issues over the past little while I had fallen behind on a lot of posts!

Here we have the Whiting family who wanted to get together just before the holiday season for some new family photos. With the warm weather that we had through most of December, and the Christmas tree lots popping up everywhere I thought it may be fun to head out and pick a tree together!

Violet had a grand time walking up and down all the trees and looking at the Santa Helicopter, which I do believe Pat was more obsessed with ;)

Ella and Lily’s First Halloween

I don’t think i could ever get enough of spending time with these two little angels! Momma Mena is a big ham when it comes to her baby girls, so she called me up and was so excited to play around with the costumes she picked up for Ella and Lily. We drove around a few different pumpkin patches to get the perfect collection for our little shoot.

This one here was ALL Mena’s idea! She was laughing so hard the whole time thinking that her neighbors were going to think she was nuts trying to make her babies cry on the side of the road in a box that said “Free Kiddies” on it. You think we could GET the babies to cry? Of course not.. so a little fussing would have to do!

Christie’s a Momma to Be!

Where does time go! It seems like only the other day I was wandering around the halls of our high school.

Christie and her husband Tim are happy to announce that any day now they will be expecting their first born child. With much coaxing from her sister and best friend came over on a disgustingly hot summer day for some maternity photos, only one week away from the due date! Here are the shots we got!

Congrats Christie and Tim!!
